The Bamboo Is Silent Now

The Bamboo Is Silent Now
by

September 15, 2013

The bamboo is silent now
But the night is still long.
You came home indeed
But you can no longer breath.
The gunfire in Zamboanga City
Has stopped
And the rebels have raised their white handkerchiefs,
But the cycle of convenience still awaits to be completed.
Now, who will carry our crying son
And play with him
On a Sunday morning
At the Baliwasan Beach?
Shall I blame Allah
Or Pinoy for this war?

***
Note:  Baliwasan is one of the beaches in Zamboanga City.
