The Night Is Still Long and Deep

The Night Is Still Long and Deep

The night is still long and deep
And I hear twenty one bells toll.
But for whom?
Are they for those who seek peace and justice
Or for those who suppress and oppress?
Are they for those who work for reconciliation
Or for those who look for confrontation?
Men dream for progress and happiness

But why do they shed blood and tears?
Are we too hungry for power and more power
That we forget love and harmony?
The night is still long and deep.
But I know a common dawn is coming.
