Librarians, Inc., in recognition of his outstanding achievements and extensive
contributions to librarianship for more than 50 years as University Librarian
of St. Paul University Iloilo; as Head Librarian of the College of Fisheries and
Ocean Sciences, and the Readers Services Section, U.P. in the Visayas, Miag-ao,
Iloilo; as Librarian in three other academic libraries in Iloilo City; as
devoted library professional who served well as member of PLAI and PAARL; and
as a multitalented prolific writer producing around 200 poems, short stories,
articles, books, and pamphlets in several languages for which he has been
awarded recognitions and citations.

2005, January 16—A member of the Aklanon Group who
distributed school supplies, cloths, and canned goods to the Atis in a
Resettlement Area in Buruanga, Aklan.
2005—Encouraged Mr. Cirilo Castillon, an Aklanon
philanthropist who now lives in USA to provide some amount of money to be
borrowed by UPV Aklanon students in UPV Miag-ao Campus. Several UPV students
have already availed of this no-interest credit service.

the culture, history, and tourist spots of Bohol.
2004—served as a resource person in an internet
creative writing workshop among Aklanon budding writers presently based in
various parts of the world, like USA, Switzerland, Germany, Saipan, Micronesia,
and the Philippines. The outputs of that workshop are published in a book
entitled: Haiku, Luwa and Other Poems edited by M. Cichon, E. L. Faral, and L.

Literature Archives, Inc., ILA Lang na Tanan, Aton man ina gihapon… where his
Aklanon haiku were published
2002—his five Aklanon haiku were published in
SanAg2, November 2002, the first published Aklanon haiku.
2001—set up the Aklanon Literature website (http://www.geocities.com/aklanonliterature), where Aklanon poetry, riddles, songs, tales,
short stories, are featured. This is also the first of its kind in the
Philippines. As of June 19,2004, the website was visited 9972 times from
worldwide audiences.
