this nation can be great again

this nation can be great
again.
One by one,
The future of our Fatherland
Are forced
To go early to their
Unknown graves.
One by one,
As they fight for our rights.
this nation
can be great
again.
Yes,
Our young mothers
Silently weep
As their sons and daughters
Leave their homes
Never to return home
Again.
One by one,
As they stand firm for our rights,
they are dragged
leaving behind their blooded sandals
in Mendiola, in Luneta.
they are dragged
leaving behind their blooded sandals
in Mendiola, in Luneta.
Yes, this nation
can be great
again,
While the thousand pairs of shoes
And the hundreds of ternos,
Are filled with dust
In the Palace's Apartment Room;
While our mothers leave us
To work abroad as helpers;
While our lawmakers
Debate till past midnight
Whether to amend again
Or not
Our Constitution.
Indeed, this nation
can be great again
As we sigh
Like a boiling lava.
